prodigal balloon — walk by faith May 8th

Practice tenderhearted mercy and kindness to others.

Interview with az on 5.9.21

The golden rule: treat others as you want to be treated. Regardless of how he/she/they is/are towards you. As I finally begin to appreciate and listen to my emotions I’ve come to realize that I was mistaken. My thinking was off in my crisis, but if I’m being honest it was well before that. During a crisis, I full-on ran with the guerilla thoughts that had finally laid siege of the mental. I went astray like the prodigal son but a stubbornness like myself needed this to happen for me to see firsthand just what can happen when you put all your trust in the mind and lose grip of the heart & spirit. I grasped at the straws of different religions, philosophies, and ideologies but was left with this indescribable void. But I was going about my quest all wrong. There was a guide who wanted to help me through the wilderness but I was wary of accepting help. I didn’t want to trust His or anyone’s tenderhearted mercy and kindness for that matter. But finally, I did, and now I know the truth that is grounding. He alone is the best director of this life’s work. Not me.

It’s good to no longer be the helium-filled balloon floating away. What they don’t tell you is those balloons that fly off so majestically are beaten by the elements and creation until all that’s left are pieces. Fortunately, I made it out before becoming irrevocably broken. From now on, I will stay on this wonderful ground and choose air any day. He knows what He’s doing. As long as my lungs are filled with the breath of God, I will trust that I’ll be ok.

Breathe easy because this is how it’s meant to be.
